As the Conservative Group Leader in Milton Keynes, I had the privilege of attending the Local Government Association (LGA) Annual Conference alongside Cllr Chris Wardle. This annual, cross-party event offered a wealth of insightful workshops and panel discussions covering a variety of critical issues.
Our focus centered on the key challenges facing Milton Keynes residents, including growth, affordable housing, council finances, devolution, public transport, and support for young people and families. Engaging in dialogue with peers from across the political spectrum proved to be an invaluable experience. It was inspiring to hear how different councils manage their resources and implement best practices.
The charming town of Harrogate served as a picturesque backdrop to our discussions, rich with history. And, to my delight, I even spotted the Trotter brothers’ famous car parked on the street! #OnlyFoolsAndHorses
