Update on unauthorised encampments petition
The Milton Keynes Council and Thames Valley Police have teamed up by signing a joint protocol to tackle unauthorised encampments. This is great news for us all.
This partnership marks a significant step towards addressing the long-standing issue of encampments that have been a source of concern for the community and residents. With this collaboration, we can finally address the issue head-on, and it's about time!
Our campaign has been relentlessly pressuring for action towards these unauthorised encampments that have brought Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and numerous other issues to our residents.
Previously, Milton Keynes Council was one of only three councils that hadn't joined this essential initiative, but now, we can finally say that they're listening to us and taking action.
This is a significant victory for the residents who have tirelessly fought for a neighbourhood without disruptions, and by signing the petitions and supporting our efforts, we have managed to get the council to listen.
There’s still much more to do, and we will continue to represent our residents and fight for bollards and bunds on the redways. We will urge the council to keep finding a long-term solution by allocating a site for the traveller community.
We thank you for your unwavering support and hope you will continue supporting us.
