It is essential to recognize that every child and young person has the right to be physically active and to have access to secure, positive, and trustworthy environments where they can engage in physical activity. Furthermore, it is crucial to ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to realize their full potential and that they are not limited by factors such as socio-economic status or access to resources.
Positive experiences early in life can lay the groundwork for a healthy and productive future. Children who have enjoyable experiences while being physically active are more likely to continue to pursue physical activity in the future. These experiences can be beneficial in promoting a sense of excitement, confidence, and pleasure that can carry over into other aspects of their lives.
As a ward councillor, Shazna Muzammil had the privilege of using a portion of her ward budget to support Tattenhoe Youth FC in their efforts to provide a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn and play football.
By supporting initiatives such as Tattenhoe Youth FC, we are providing children with a positive environment where they can develop their physical skills, build relationships with their peers, and gain a sense of accomplishment. These experiences can be transformative, helping children develop resilience, self-esteem, and a positive outlook on life.
By donating a portion of her budget to the club, she was able to help them acquire new equipment, ensuring that the children had access to the best resources for their training and development.
Cllr Shazna Muzammil said: “By being able to give some of my ward budget to Tattenhoe Youth Football Club, not only was I able to help the local community by helping our children develop both social connections and better their physical health, but most importantly with this grant, I hope to allow the children, the chance to do what they enjoy and love, to the best possible affect. With this funding more children can experience the joy of football, create lifelong friendships, hone their sporting and teamwork skills and above all else have fun, and that’s what matters.
I believe that sports are not only important for physical health but also for mental well-being, and I have always been passionate about promoting any initiative that supports the well-being of our children. Sport is also a crucial aspect in nurturing the youth of today and the future of tomorrow.
I am grateful to the club and the parents who support them, and I know that their efforts will go a long way in promoting the overall well-being of the children in our community.”
Cllr Muzammil is proud of her contribution towards Tattenhoe Youth FC, and hopes that her actions have inspired others to take action in supporting initiatives that promote the health and well-being of our children. Cllr Muzammil is committed to continuing her efforts to support initiatives that have a positive impact on our community, and looks forward to seeing the positive effects that these actions will have in the future.
