Residents and their children have used Kingsmead Green as a safe location for recreation and family get-togethers. Many locals are frustrated because the Shenley Park development across the border intends to use this green as a through route. As a local ward councillor, I will continue to collaborate with the council, developers, and people to discover alternate solutions. We were recently joined by our local MP, Iain Stewart MP, and Bucks MP, Greg Smith MP, as they visited our precious green and explored alternate development access options. We traversed the entire length of the bridle path to better grasp what this development means for both sides. We are grateful to our lovely residents, particularly Tonie Testa and Caroline, who spoke with the MPs about the development.
The good news is that both MPs agree with us that no through highways should be built through Milton Keynes, and they will continue to work with us to find other solutions.
Kingsmead Green is more than just a plot of land; it is the heart of our resident community. From celebrating the Queen's jubilee to our children playing securely, this green space contains innumerable fond memories.
We also want to raise awareness that this development comes on top of previous expansions, such as Salden Chase, which will further aggravate congestion in Milton Keynes if suitable infrastructure is not planned for. Furthermore, putting residences near grid roads is against established policy.
We are committed not to lose any more green places, which are essential for our physical and emotional health.
We are actively interacting with developers and all stakeholders, hosting meetings to ensure that the voices of our people are heard throughout this process. We will also continue to share any information we receive from our MPs on this.
We promise to keep our people updated every step of the way as we fight on. All of our residents' support is critical to ensuring the future of our open space for future generations. It is not over yet, and there's still lots more to do, regardless Thank You for your ongoing support.
